The Call To Worship



Worship in this context is not to sing praises and raise hands in the church or any spiritual gathering, it is when you take the value system for God, your love and your passion for Him will increase. Our love for God can go cold at any point in time, not because we don't love God, but the tempo and fervency will reduce due to the society we find ourselves. We live in a society that everything seems to be choking our love for God, so it gets to a point in our lives when we begin to question if God is still there because daily our convictions are dwindling.

Everybody begin their spiritual journey with some degree of fervency, at a point we have the ability to reject that which is not of God and stand for the things of the spirit but gradually our strength seem to fail us.

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Lets take a look at the lives of the Apostles, the Bible recorded it that the Apostle Peter left his fishing profession and followed Jesus and because of this single decision he wrought mighty things.
So many believers come to Jesus believing and expecting that He will bless and prosper them (we need to know that God is not against our success) the problem here is, when they begin to follow Jesus they didn't follow Him as an end, they follow Him as a means to an end. From most believers perception, we see Jesus as a very reliable ladder that we could use to get to a place where our lust and appetite wanted us to get to.

In John 21:15-17, Jesus categorically asked Peter the same question three times just to know his real intention for following Him. In other words, Jesus is saying 'i know you want me to bless you but what if i don't bless you?' 

The truth is, there is a deceit that as been crafted into the body of Christ and if we don't kick it out, it will greatly affect the Church. The bible says "if your strength fails you in the day of battle, your strength is small". 

There are so many believers who gave their life to Christ and preachers of the Gospel fail to open them up to the full span of the scope of what it means to be born again and walk with the Lord. Some preachers are so afraid of losing members, not being part of the societal flow, so they tell them that once you give your life to Christ all trouble or your sorrow will be over. Now the person got born again and after a year is one trouble to another and such person begins to unconsciously seek for alternatives because in the chemistry of man, we are designed to seek for alternatives that's why people will keep going to herbalist until the church rises up. They won't stop by just preaching messages, they will stop when the sons of God manifest truly.

Lots of people come to God when our emotions move us to. We cry, roll on the floor and even confess our love for God but the truth is saying it is not enough until we demonstrate it through our service. Passion for God is not just standing up and crying so that people will know how emotional you are, (a kiss that symbolises love also depict betrayal) so you don't really judge passion for God with the physical outlook only.

The Witness Box

A young lady committed a crime and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but to no one available for help. When the case was called in court she started weeping. Her family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the young lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. Do you even need Jesus?

Ever wonder why someone you don't know will stop you on the road and tell you sir/ma, Jesus loves you and with a gaze in your eyes you will be like "i know!" or sometimes you say "that is not my business right now" some people will even sit you down and start narrating the bible to you on why you should accept Jesus but deep inside of you, you start asking yourself some questions like do i even need Jesus?
