The Call to Worship. Part two
Previously, i wrote about our call to worship as Christians and believers generally and how we should make God the center point of our service and love. Today i will be writing on the concluding part of that.
I have seen people who seem to be unemotional about God but truly they can die for God. Some may think that they are not serious but they really do not joke with the things of God.
When you begin to walk with the Lord, and you come to a point where you love Him, the first thing that happen to you is that God will begin to propose to you things that will open the door of your heart (this is not necessarily for blessing) because God's priority is not just to bless you but to change you. That's why no man can really lay down his life for Jesus, the only thing he can do is to permit God to take it. The sacrifices and constrain that brings you to a point that everyone sees your life and knows that Jesus is the master and the owner is almost unbearable except the spirit of God leads you.
At some point, Jesus shows us the relationship between death and glory but this is a message that is not appreciated in the church because we want to come as we are, keep what we have and add to what God will give us. But unfortunately that's not how God works. When God comes into your heart, the first thing is that He destroys that city in your heart called 'babel', that city that was built without His supervision and began to build Zion according to His Pattern and terms. That's why its wrong to come into the things of God as a celebrity, we must learn to be submissive to His will. People that seem to be successful without Christ hardly sustain their Christianity after some time because they come to God believing that God is one of their 'fans' and so, they want to still sustain the ecstasy and the glory but God is saying when you come, you queue up and follow the line like every other person and if it will require you momentarily laying down Certain things (it may be honour) I will build you and bring you back even better. Jeremiah 29:11
Before God begins His journey with us, what He promised was peace and that's where He wants us to put our trust in. This is what the bible calls faith. Faith is not just claiming, its about trusting with all your life knowing that it will not fail in the end.
This is what happens in the case of Abraham when God ask him to leave his fathers house. Though Abraham was a successful man but God still have plans for him that are beyond his imaginations. Abraham was boasting of raising over 230 people but God was planning on making him the father of many nations.
However, many, even men of God have began to adopt so many doctrines that contradicts genuine Service. They permit you to do whatever you want and the people begin to adopt that teaching because it suits their lusts.
As Christians, we must present Jesus Christ as the Lord who will train and build a man according to His plan and terms and such man must walk according to that terms.
God can give you more than anything you can dream of. The truth is, when God begins to build you, He will shield your progress from you so that pride won't stop the lesson. You may not know that you are making a tremendous progress because God will block you from seeing how far you have gone so that pride won't overwhelm you. That's why certain barriers are not from the devil, its God's act of love to sustain you until you are prepared and then He sends you.
You come to God as you are, you don't remain as you are. You must be ready to subject yourself willingly.
God won't give you a success or lifting that you cannot manage, He will release His abundant blessings upon you after you have been thoroughly proven and furnished for the good work.
Why not make yourself available for Gods service, allow Him to search your heart until He becomes your Lord and master.
You must get to that point where the place of God will not be compromised in your heart.
