Crushed but not destroyed
Crushed but not destroyed
2nd corinthians 4vs9-12. It is such a big deceit to think that as a Christian you will not go through challenges. I have heard a lot of Christians say "I am a child of God, I believe in God, I trust Him, so why am I going through these difficulties, why do I have these tough experiences when I am a bonafide child of God?". The straight answer to the above question is simple, being a child of God doesn't automatically make you immune to challenges, in fact it is not out of place to say that it makes you prone or more open to greater challenges than you faced when you were yet to be born again ... It is quite unfortunate that the devil has been able to deceive many through fake teachings to make them think that the moment you confess Jesus as your lord and personal savior you are eligible to live a life of luxury, fame, utmost comfort, and a challenge free life. Most Christians have erroneously built their faith life on this false background, and that is why when they are being challenged or have an issue that is beyond their capacity, they begin to question God and make way for Doubt to creep in. The devil knows that the stronghold of every Christian is his faith in God, his believe in God as the only source of power and strength, what he tries to do is to shake that belief and even completely cut you off from your source through the use of doubt as of his strongest weapon.
On earth you doubt God's power, grace and most importantly His unfailing love, then you make yourself a prey to the enemy.
What all Christians however need to understand is that challenges don't mean God has left us, it doesn't mean he has forgotten or forsaken us neither does it mean He loves us less. God's love for us is the only thing that cannot fail, it can stand through all test, therefore thinking that God hates us (which He doesn't and will never) when we face troubles is the work of the enemy. It is expedient for us to know that as true believers we must be ready for our faith to be tested at some points in our lives.
Paul made us to understand in 2corinthians 4vs8-18: that we are pressed on EVERY side by TROUBLES but we are not crushed or broken, we are PERPLEXED but we don't GIVE UP or QUIT. Look at that first phrase 'pressed on every side, it shows that troubles will come to discomfort us, they will make us want to question God and even want to doubt Him, make want us to go back and loss our confidence and trust in our father but even though we are perplexed and don't seem to understand why we we have troubles all around us, we must learn just like Paul and the other teachers of the early church not to give up or quit, we must be unshakable, standing on the truth that comes from God's word. When you quit, you give the Devil the authority over your life. On every side financially, spiritually, physically, mentally, psychologically, morally, naturally, and any aspect you may possibly think of.
Expect persecution and troubles but when they come, believe, stand and know that you may be hunted down, but God never abandon his own, you may be knocked down but as surely as the Lord lives, you will surely get up again and keep going till you become victorious. Know that many are the afflictions of those that are righteous but the Lord delivers them from ALL.
